Flooding temporarily closed West Liberty Lions Club Park Saturday morning as the community prepared for the annual Labor Day Festival.
The West Liberty Lions Club announced on social media that the park would remain closed to everyone until 9:30 Saturday morning while organizers assessed conditions.
The club said it fully expected festival activities to continue as planned, including the Labor Day Parade at 10:30 a.m.
However, because of the flooding, on-site parking is expected to be very limited.
Festival-goers are encouraged to use the shuttle and parking available at area churches rather than trying to park at the festival grounds.
Lions Club Park is hosting the West Liberty Labor Day Festival through Monday, with the parade and numerous activities scheduled throughout the weekend.
Organizers said additional updates would be posted as they continue to monitor conditions.
