Benjamin Logan covers approximately 220 square miles, making it one of the 20 largest school districts in Ohio.
The district has about 1,550 students and more than 200 staff members.
Flynn highlighted the district’s graduation rates, academic achievements, financial responsibility, and community support.
He also discussed the district’s role in storm recovery and its efforts to support students.
Looking ahead, the district wants to focus on service, community involvement, and becoming a community hub.
One of the biggest challenges is school funding.
Changes in state funding and property tax laws have made it harder for schools.
Flynn said Benjamin Logan has not passed a funding increase in nearly 20 years, but rising costs are making it harder to continue operating on a tight budget.
He talks about what he is most proud of in the district:
Other challenges include changing state legislation and the cost of maintaining aging school buildings.
Flynn encouraged community members to get involved, help provide learning opportunities for students, and stay informed about school funding and education legislation.
