Bellefontaine High School recently named its Seniors of the Month, Chris Fogan and Jalyn Savage.
Chris Fogan is the son of Shelton and Joyce Fogan of Bellefontaine.
School activities and awards: 4 Years of Varsity Football, 4 Years of Varsity Baseball, 1 Year of Junior Varsity Basketball, Honor Roll, and All CBC Honors.
If I were principal for a day: I would give everyone a free day and host a field day type of event with lots of fun and games.
Favorite school memory: Relay for Life my sophomore year because of the slip-and-slide kickball.
People who have been an inspiration to me: My parents, coaches over the years, and historical figures, like Martin Luther King Jr.
Lately I’ve been reading: Now by Morris Gleitzman.
My advice to parents: Let your kids experience high school to its fullest; sheltering them is only hurting them.
My biggest regret: Not taking more advanced classes.
Next year: I will be attending Ohio Dominican University to study exercise science and play football.
Jalyn Savage is the daughter of Sam Savage and Angela Savage of Bellefontaine.
School activities and awards: National Honor Society, DARE Club Vice President, Interact Club, Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Pep Band, Orchestra, Heart of a Chieftain Award, Academic Achievement Awards, 110% Award in Orchestra, and Most Improved Award in Orchestra.
If I were principal for a day: I would give everyone the day off because they deserve it.
Favorite school memory: Being in the band on Friday nights, playing music, and cheering on the football team with my best friends.
People who have been an inspiration to me: My mom for her strength and courage.
Lately I’ve been reading: The Awakening and my textbooks for my online classes.
My advice to parents: Support your kids in everything they do.
My biggest regret: Not getting more involved earlier in high school to make new friends.
Next year: I will be attending The Ohio State University and majoring in psychology.
