Janie Foreman has been named the new Transportation Director for Benjamin Logan Schools following official action by the Board of Education during a special meeting held recently.

Foreman, who previously served as a bus driver within the district, will begin her new administrative role on June 2nd.

She was awarded a one-year contract effective through July 31, 2026.

The district says that this reassignment reflects its continued emphasis on promoting internal leadership and supporting professional advancement opportunities.

The board also approved a contract change for certified staff member Tori Purk.

Beginning August 1st, Purk will move to a continuing contract.

To accommodate the change, a previously approved three-year limited contract extending through July 31, 2028, was officially rescinded.

In other business, the board approved overnight trip stipends for staff members who chaperoned the 8th Grade Washington, D.C. trip earlier this month.

Educators receiving stipends for their participation in the trip include Natasha Anderson, Tom Braddock, Lora James, Laurie Kimmel, Jessie McCoy, Tori Purk, Deepika Scheiderer, Lisa Smith, Alison Spriggs, and Linda Thompson.

As part of the district’s College Credit Plus (CCP) program, the board authorized payments to several instructors who completed dual enrollment responsibilities for the 2024-25 academic year.

These staff members include Jodie Kavanagh, Michelle Lane, Michael Kettler, Marianelly Hughes, Spencer Reames, Trisha Hemmelgarn, Joel Phillips, and Jason Smith. The payments are in accordance with the current negotiated agreement.

In addition, Jamie Hughes was awarded a supplemental contract to serve as Middle School Activities Director for the 2025–2026 school year, a role aimed at supporting student engagement and activity coordination.
