A former Bellefontaine City Schools administrator and teacher has passed away.
Dick Horn, 84, of Bellefontaine, died on Tuesday.
Mr. Horn was a teacher at BHS from 1966 to 1991.
He then served as the high school athletic director and assistant principal from 1991 to 1999.
Horn made his classes in biology, anatomy, and physiology unforgettable for generations of Chieftains.
Dick also spent many years as the BHS athletic trainer and was a longtime football and track coach.
Horn is survived by his wife, Barbara, and his children, Erinn (Michael) Whitehead, Meghan (Stephen) Bramlage, Brighid (Fred) Matvias, and Connor Horn.
Dick graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1959.
He served on the Bellefontaine Park Board, Metropolitan Housing Commission, and was a Bellefontaine City Councilman.
Mr. Horn was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville.
