Bellefontaine lit up the fountain on the downtown square early Wednesday morning in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The bright pink glow will continue throughout October, serving as a reminder of the importance of early detection, screenings, and support for those impacted by breast cancer.
Communities across the nation mark the month with events, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns to honor survivors, remember those lost, and encourage ongoing research and education.
Locally, several “Pink Out” events are planned to raise awareness:
- A Pink Out volleyball match at Indian Lake High School on October 1
- A Pink Out football game at Bellefontaine High School on October 3
- Pink Out football game at Benjamin Logan High School on October 10
- A breast cancer-related event in West Liberty on October 9
Local officials say the pink fountain is a simple but powerful way to show solidarity and keep awareness front and center throughout October.
