“Four Clark State College employees have been recognized with 2026 Excellence Awards from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development for their exceptional dedication, innovation and leadership in advancing student success and excellence in higher education.

The 2026 Clark State recipients are Nicole Trimble, director of advising; Courtney Buck, nursing professor; Stuart Hess, HVAC instructor; and Matt Klint, networking and cybersecurity instructor.

‘These four individuals represent the very best of Clark State,’ said Evon Walters, Ed.D., Clark State president. ‘Whether they are supporting students through advising or preparing them for careers in nursing, skilled trades or information technology, each has made a meaningful difference in the lives of our students. Their dedication to excellence reflects the values of our college and we are proud to see them recognized.’

As director of advising, Trimble leads the college’s advising team and helps students navigate their educational journeys from enrollment through graduation. Her commitment to personalized student support helps students overcome challenges and stay on track to achieve their academic and career goals.

Buck prepares the next generation of nurses through hands-on instruction and mentorship, equipping students with the knowledge, clinical skills and confidence needed to succeed in the healthcare profession.

Hess provides students with industry-focused training in heating, ventilation and air conditioning, helping them develop the technical skills and real-world experience needed to enter the workforce.

Klint prepares students for careers in networking and cybersecurity through instruction that combines technical expertise with practical, hands-on learning aligned with today’s rapidly evolving technology industry.

Each recipient was recognized during NISOD’s International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence. Honorees receive a pewter Excellence Awards medallion, a personalized certificate and recognition during the conference’s annual Excellence Awards Dinner and Celebration.”
