Fresh cuts and full backpacks: Community rallies for students

UPDATE: In a social media post Sunday evening, the Indian Lake Community Church said:

Hotdogs & Haircuts has easily climbed to the top of our favorites list here at ILCC & The Lighthouse.

Seeing the community come together to supply the students with the items they need to head back to school and the talented hair stylists work their magic to make sure everyone looks and feels their best is nothing short of amazing.

From the excitement of picking out their supplies to the ear-to-ear grin as they stare back at their reflection in the mirror after seeing themselves all cleaned up, each moment is special.

Today, 6 stylists gave 77 haircuts, and 201 students shopped for hygiene items and school supplies from schools all over the county.

We can’t thank the community members, businesses, and especially our stylists enough for the efforts shown today.

We are truly blessed with amazing support. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Stylists: Billi Hurley, McKenzie Lewis, Darla Myers, Vicki Teague, LeAnna Salmeron, Sydney Wright
