Tuesday night on America’s Got Talent, Kylie Frey quickly earned herself a spot in the next phase of the talent competition.
She sang “Horses in Heaven,” a song she wrote about her grandfather.
Bellefontaine’s very own Jesse Jervis is Frey’s bass guitarist and has been since early 2022. Traveling the country and playing at different venues, and now taking the national stage, Jervis feels honored to be able to have this opportunity to do what he loves. He recently said, “I got this gig from a friend, who knew someone, who knew someone. Pure chance.” Jervis is thankful for his family’s support while he is chasing his dreams.
After Frey’s audition, it was time to hear from the judges.
Three of the votes were expected: yeses from Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell. Howie Mandel’s no vote puzzled the audience and viewers all over the county. Mandel voted no, saying that the song wasn’t sticking with him after the closing notes.
The three yes votes were enough to advance Frey and her band to the next round of the competition.
AGT airs on NBC again next Tuesday, August 8th at 8 PM.
