More than 12,000 customers are still without electricity on Saturday following Friday’s powerful windstorm.
According to AES Ohio, crews continue working to restore power to thousands of customers affected by widespread outages caused by high winds that moved through the region Friday.
The Logan County Electric Cooperative said that its customers who lost power had it restored around 8:00 PM Friday.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports that all roadways in Logan County that were previously closed due to downed power lines or utility poles have since reopened.
The strong winds also caused transportation issues across the county.
Authorities say a handful of semi-trucks rolled over during the storm due to powerful wind gusts, leading to temporary roadway closures while crews worked to clear the vehicles.

In Lakeview, fire crews were able to save several dozen homes after a brush fire got out of control and threatened nearby residences.
Firefighters worked in difficult and windy conditions to contain the flames and protect homes in the area.
Community members are expressing gratitude for the crews’ tireless efforts to prevent further damage.
Friday’s winds brought down trees, power lines, and poles across the area, leading to scattered outages and hazardous travel conditions.
Utility crews continue restoration efforts, and residents are reminded to avoid any downed power lines.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the National Weather Service in Wilmington is forecasting:
- Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 46. Northwest wind around 6 mph, becoming calm in the morning.
- Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. East wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts up to 23 mph.
- Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. Breezy, with a south wind 13 to 18 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph.
- Sunday Night: Rain, with thunderstorms possible after 5 a.m. Low around 33. Breezy, with a south wind 23 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90%, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and a half of an inch possible.
