Tavien St. Clair, a five-star quarterback recruit ranked as the No. 4 overall player in the country, according to 247 Sports, from Bellefontaine High School, and an Ohio State commit, held a hometown send-off at Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken.
Fans from throughout the area showed up in large numbers to support St. Clair. The precision passing QB signed autographs and took pictures during the afternoon, and he participated in a live radio remote with ESPN-WING 1410 out of Dayton. Keith Byars was there to support St. Clair and helped conduct the remote interview.

The event marked the kickoff of a new local Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) partnership between St. Clair and Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken. As part of the overall deal, Lee’s will work with St. Clair throughout the upcoming football season to engage fans and celebrate his continued success. The partnership feels special for St. Clair, as he’s a longtime fan of Lee’s and grew up sharing meals with his family at the hometown restaurant. His connection runs even deeper, as his uncle also worked closely with the Lee’s team through a former partnership with Pepsi, making the celebration especially personal.
St. Clair says that choosing to partner with Lee’s was the easiest read he’s ever made.
The former Chieftain quarterback is the most decorated signal-caller in school history. His high school career saw him accumulate well over 10,000 passing yards and 100 touchdowns. He set the school record for passing yards and touchdowns as a junior in 2023. He was named an Elite 11 quarterback finalist in 2024 and was named the 2025 Marcus Dupree National High School Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year in June.
St. Clair has many fond memories in Bellefontaine and will always remember the people who made his high school career so special.
St. Clair is set to join former Alabama transfer Julian Sayin and former 2023 four-star commit Lincoln Kienholz in the Buckeye’s quarterback room.
The chance to join a program like Ohio State is one many relish. St. Clair is ready to put on a show and take advantage of every opportunity that gets thrown his way.
The Bellefontaine community sends its best wishes and good luck to St. Clair as he takes the next step in his football journey as a Buckeye. O-H!
