It doesn’t have any signs…yet, but it will.

The policies and procedures are still being developed.

Staff are still being interviewed, and final touches are being applied.

All of that aside, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office officially has a new space for the county’s stray dogs and cats.

The Logan County Animal Shelter housed its first dogs and cats at the beginning of the year, marking a project years in the making.

While the shelter isn’t yet open to the public, Deputy Jake Boyd is officially operating out of the new facility.

The first dog adoption from the shelter took place on Wednesday morning when Bostyn Moots took home her newest family member.

While plans are still being developed to add an option on the Logan County Sheriff’s app to see adoptable pets, residents can currently view animals ready for adoption on the Logan County Dog Warden Facebook page.

An open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility is planned for this spring, once everything is in place and ready for the public.
