The Benjamin Logan Board of Education convened for its monthly meeting on Monday. where several decisions were made, ranging from significant financial approvals to student and personnel recognitions.
One of the main items on the agenda was the approval of a substantial contract with the Western Ohio Computer Organization.
The board approved $288,895 for services, which include the installation of new switches and cable runs as part of the district’s ongoing effort to upgrade its network infrastructure.
In addition, the board gave the green light to a 6-year subscription for the Wonders K–5 English Language Arts program, an evidence-based curriculum aligned with the science of reading.
The board also took time to recognize the Seniors of the Month for March, with honors going to Grace Frangis and Bryden Morris.
These students were acknowledged for their academic achievements and contributions to their school community.
BLMS reported that iReady testing results showed impressive growth in both Reading and Math among students.
The school is now focusing on preparing for upcoming state testing and end-of-year celebrations.
Teachers are also finalizing the Collins Writing professional development, with a focus on goal-setting for the next school year.
At the Elementary School, third and fourth graders are currently completing iReady testing in preparation for state assessments.
The school is also working to revise its grade card to align with a standards-based grading format.
A Math/Lit game night is scheduled for Thursday, March 20th from 6 to 7 PM.
At the high school level, the BPA team secured six national qualifiers, while the quiz bowl team won the CBC and will compete at a national level in April.
The recent production of the musical Grease was a success, and the BL Jazz Band is set to open for the Springfield Jazz Orchestra on Saturday.
The board accepted a $500 anonymous donation to help cover end-of-year balances for families qualifying for free and reduced lunch.

- Linda Thompson, Educational Assistant, effective May 30, 2025
- Lindsay Rose, Guidance Counselor, effective May 31, 2025
- Scott LeVan, Teacher, retiring effective May 30, 2025
In a special announcement, the board approved an educational trip to Europe for Honors European History students in 2027.
The trip, which will be led by Trisha Hemmelgarn, will take place from July 15–26, 2027.
The cost of the trip is estimated at $5,769 per student.
