Approximately 70 Veterans and spouses were honored in a special Veterans’ Day program at Riverside High School on Tuesday morning.

DeGraff resident Curt Fry was given a special honor: a folded flag that had flown over the Logan County Courthouse during September.

Fry served in the United States Marine Corps and the Reserves from 1968 to 1978, and in the Ohio National Guard from 1983 to 2002.

Fry graduated from Riverside High School in 1968.

During his time in the service, Fry was awarded several commendations, including the Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.

Fry talks about the honor:

The guest speaker at the event was Command Sergeant Major (Ret) Bibkley, and the Majesty Quartet and Riverside High School Band performed musical selections.
