Funeral plans have been released following the death of Pope Francis, who passed away Monday at 88 years old after suffering a stroke.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, April 26th at 10 a.m. local time (which is 4 a.m. Eastern Time) in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican.

It will be led by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, the dean of the College of Cardinals.

The ceremony will follow a simpler format that was approved by Pope Francis himself last year.

The Pope is currently lying in state at Domus Santa Marta, the Vatican residence where he lived throughout his time as Pope.

Starting Wednesday, the public will be able to pay their respects.

His casket will be brought in a formal procession to St. Peter’s Basilica before the funeral.

Following the service, Pope Francis will be buried at Santa Maria Maggiore, a church in Rome that was very special to him.

President Donald Trump ordered U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff through the funeral.
