Saturday afternoon just before 3 PM, Bellefontaine Police and EMS were called to a home on the 600 block of West Columbus Avenue, regarding the victim bleeding on the floor of the kitchen after being stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim was sitting on a mobility scooter in the kitchen of the home, with an injury to his backside.
The victim told police that he was stabbed by his wife, Audrey Gibson, 29, of Bellefontaine.
She was placed under arrest and taken to the Bellefontaine Police Department for questioning.
While being handcuffed, Audrey stated multiple times, that she didn’t mean to hurt the victim and she didn’t want the victim to hurt one of the many dogs inside the home.
Bellefontaine EMS transported the victim to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment and was later transferred to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for further care.
Audrey was later lodged in the Logan County Jail for felonious assault, she also has a prior conviction of felonious domestic violence.
