Graham accepts resignation of Lensman, opens search for next superintendent

The Graham Local School District Board of Education has accepted the resignation of Superintendent Chad Lensman, effective July 31, 2026.

According to a press release dated February 23, 2026, Mr. Lensman will continue to serve in his role as superintendent through that date and remains fully dedicated to the district, its students, staff, and families during this transition period.

The press release also says the following:

During his tenure, Mr. Lensman demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student success and district excellence. The district noted he is widely respected for his belief in and dedication to the district’s staff, teachers, and fellow administrators, and for fostering a culture that strengthened morale, collaboration, and positive working relationships across the organization.

Under his leadership, the district achieved a 4.5-star rating, reflecting sustained academic progress and organizational growth. A strong instructional leader with a background in curriculum and academic leadership, Mr. Lensman’s expertise helped guide instructional improvement efforts that directly supported this achievement. He was also honored with the National Award for Transformative Leadership, recognizing his impact as an innovative and forward-thinking educational leader. Throughout his service, he exemplified leadership rooted in integrity, transparency, and a steadfast commitment to students and the community.

In addition, Mr. Lensman played an instrumental role in advancing the district’s long-term vision, including leadership that supported the acquisition of land critical to the district’s future growth and development.

The Board of Education is grateful for Mr. Lensman’s leadership and the lasting contributions he has made to Graham Local Schools. His dedication to excellence, people-centered leadership, and student-focused decision-making will continue to positively influence the district well beyond his tenure.

In preparation for this leadership transition, the Board has approved a contract with K12 Consulting Services to conduct a comprehensive search for the district’s next superintendent. The district is committed to a transparent and inclusive process and will seek public input as part of the superintendent search. Additional information regarding opportunities for community engagement and participation will be shared in the coming weeks.

The Board of Education thanked the community for its continued support and said it looks forward to working collaboratively with students, families, staff, and stakeholders throughout this important transition.
