The Graham Local Schools Board of Education voted Tuesday evening to expedite an appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court after the Champaign County Budget Commission denied the district’s request for an unvoted permanent improvement levy.
Tensions ran high during the meeting, as some individuals who arrived after the meeting began, including a student, were not allowed to speak. The board cited its policy, which requires anyone wishing to make public comments to sign up before the meeting starts.
No board members were available for public comment following the vote. The matter will now move forward under review by the Ohio Supreme Court.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 17th, at 5:30 p.m.
