Tuesday evening, officers from the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 Block of Reservoir Road because a man had pulled into a driveway and passed out.
Bellefontaine EMS was on the scene when officers arrived. The driver, identified as Joshua Green of Lewistown, was being examined by EMTs.
Officers spoke with several witnesses who said that Green has been driving erratically when he pulled into the driveway and passed out.
After several attempts to wake him, Green finally woke up.
Green smelled of alcohol and showed several signs of intoxication.
Officers observed severe damage to the front of Green’s vehicle. When asked about it, he stated that it had happened at Community Market on Main Street earlier in the day.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
When asked to perform field sobriety tests, Green refused.
He was then arrested for OVI & OVI Refusal and transported to the Logan County Jail.
Once at the jail, Green became combative and argumentative with corrections staff and was placed in a restraint chair due to his behavior.
Green has a prior OVI conviction from 2018.
