The Riverside FFA Chapter is giving students more than just classroom instruction; it’s providing real-world experiences that build leadership, technical skills, and community pride.
At the heart of the chapter’s program is the Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), a hands-on, student-led initiative designed to immerse members in real-world agricultural learning.
Through SAE projects, students gain valuable skills in shop work, welding, carpentry, animal anatomy, and greenhouse management.
These experiences not only enhance their agricultural knowledge but also prepare them for future careers in a variety of fields.
Students in the program regularly take on shop projects that strengthen their technical abilities.
From welding and carpentry to understanding the anatomy of animals, members are actively applying what they learn in class to practical situations.
The chapter’s greenhouse program also provides opportunities for students to develop plant science and management skills.
Beyond individual projects, Riverside FFA members play an important role in supporting their school and community.
Students assist with building and designing sets for school plays, contribute to gardening projects, help maintain the nature trail on campus, and lead recycling initiatives throughout the school.
Their efforts demonstrate a commitment not only to agriculture but also to service and environmental stewardship.

Tony Robinson is the current President of Riverside FFA and has been involved for many years.
Leadership development is another cornerstone of the Riverside FFA Chapter. Members work toward earning FFA degrees that recognize their growth and achievement.
The Greenhand Degree marks a student’s first official step into FFA leadership.
As members advance, they can earn the Chapter Degree and even pursue State and National Degrees.
Prestigious honors that highlight dedication, skill development, and community involvement.
Fundraising efforts such as the chapter’s fruit sales also help finance projects, events, and educational opportunities for members throughout the year.
The chapter has attended multiple agricultural events in recent years, including Farm Science Review, the Logan County Fair, Soil Judging, National FFA Convention, State FFA Convention, Food for America Ag Day, and Elementary Field Day.
Through hands-on experiences, leadership opportunities, and service to their school, the Riverside FFA Chapter continues to make a meaningful impact in DeGraff.
By blending agricultural education with community involvement, these students are cultivating skills that will serve them well beyond graduation.
