Calin Headings, a 7th grader at Indian Lake Middle School, has done it again—winning the school’s Spelling Bee for the third consecutive year.
This year’s runner-up was 6th grader Jayvin Hill.
After several rounds of intense competition, Headings clinched the title by correctly spelling the word “equestrian” on Monday.
A total of 21 students, all selected from Language Arts classes, competed in the bee.
Participants were given words from the Scripps National Spelling Bee List, ensuring a challenging contest for all.
Both Headings and Hill will move on to represent Indian Lake Middle School at the Logan County Spelling Bee in January at the Holland Theatre.
