A Hilliard man was arrested in Urbana early Saturday morning following a traffic stop for erratic driving.

Tyler Edgington, 24, was pulled over around 2:20 a.m. on Scioto Street after officers observed his vehicle crossing the center line multiple times. Upon contact, officers reported signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and the smell of alcohol.

Edgington refused to complete field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. A search of the vehicle uncovered an open container of alcohol. Edgington later admitted to drinking several beers earlier in the evening. He also has a prior OVI conviction from 2020.

Edgington faces charges of operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI), a first-degree misdemeanor, and marked lanes violations, a minor misdemeanor.

The case remains under investigation.
