On Wednesday evening, Bellefontaine Police responded to a report of a stolen car at a home on North Main Street.

The victim said Julie Hoberty, 60, of Bellefontaine, took their 2004 Cadillac Deville without permission earlier that day.

They explained that Hoberty took the car keys, which were left on a table, and drove off.

When the victim called Hoberty around 1:00 PM asking for the car back, she refused.

The victim also said Hoberty threatened to drive the car into their house.

They mentioned that Hoberty had stolen a different vehicle from them the day before and was concerned that she might be driving drunk.

Police searched for Hoberty, and she said the car was at Madriver Mountain, but it wasn’t there.

Later, Logan County Sheriff Deputies got a 911 call from Hoberty and found her at a home on County Road 9.

The stolen car was found at the address and towed.

Hoberty was arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail.

When questioned, she claimed she had permission to take the car for repairs, but she was intoxicated.

She was lodged for theft and obstructing official business after giving false information to officers.
