Bellefontaine’s Holland Theatre has been named a finalist for the Historic Theatre of the Year award, presented annually by Heritage Ohio, the statewide Main Street coordinating agency under Main Street America.

The award recognizes historic theaters, opera houses, and cinemas that exemplify the spirit of preservation.

Nominees are judged on their architectural integrity, restoration efforts, active performance or screening schedules, and community involvement.

This year’s award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 15, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Canton Palace Theatre.

The event, part of the Heritage Ohio Annual Conference in downtown Canton, is free and open to the public.

Heritage Ohio works to promote economic growth by preserving and revitalizing downtowns and neighborhoods across the state.

The organization is Ohio’s official preservation partner with Main Street America.
