A homeless man, 61-year-old Tommy Neeley, was arrested on Saturday, after an altercation with two fellow homeless people in Bellefontaine.

The incident happened in a wooded area where the victims, a man and a woman, had been staying.

This arrest marks the second time in two weeks that Neeley has faced legal trouble.

The conflict began Friday when the female tried to use Neeley’s phone.

Tensions between the two grew throughout the day, and the woman stated that Neeley had been causing trouble.

The situation escalated when Tommy entered her tent, tried to pull her blankets off, and began giving her commands.

When she told him to stop, Neeley grabbed a pink walking stick and tried to hit her.

She was able to stop the attack, but Neeley hit the male victim, causing minor injuries to his chin and lip.

After speaking with the victims, officers went to the area where the group had been staying and spoke with Neeley.

He provided a different version of the events, claiming the argument began over stolen beer and that he had been trying to get the male victim to leave.

Neeley was then arrested for assault and transported to the Logan County Jail.

On March 10th, he was arrested for criminal damaging after a dispute with homeless individuals.

In that incident, Neeley became upset after being denied the use of a cell phone and later stabbed a fellow camper’s tent with a knife.

The investigation is ongoing.
