The Downtown Bellefontaine Partnership has announced that it is accepting entries for the upcoming Hometown Christmas Parade.
The parade is set to take place on Friday, December 1st.
Hometown Christmas Parade Guidelines:
The Hometown Christmas Parade is a family-friendly event intended to be appropriate for all ages in celebration of the spirit of Christmas. The objective is to provide a “magical” night by showcasing the Christmas spirit of our local businesses, schools, organizations, and residents via a parade through downtown Bellefontaine.
Expectations of Parade Participants (float entrants):
Given the objective of the parade and the anticipated audience, we ask all parade participants to respect the following guidelines:
- Float/Entry has a Christmas theme
- No use of profanity (written, audible, etc.)
- No lewd behavior
- No entry may have a live Santa, Mrs. Clause, or Grinch unless specifically authorized (these characters are being provided by the parade organizers)
- Candy is the only permitted handout during the parade. No other promotional items, marketing, advertising, pamphlets, or literature are permitted to be distributed.
- Per city ordinance, and for the safety of both spectators and parade entrants, candy is not allowed to be thrown. Any candy must be distributed to spectators by hand.
- Parade entries should be those from Logan County or Logan County-associated businesses.
Should an entrant violate any of the items listed above, they will not be permitted entry into next year’s parade.
The parade will assemble from 5:00 PM-5:30 PM and will depart from the Logan County Fairgrounds promptly at 6:00 PM. For safety reasons, If you have a large group meeting at the fairgrounds, we ask that you meet off-grounds at the bowling alley lot or high school lot and then report to your spot once you are all together. You must be at your assigned position by 5:30 PM.
