Honda will play a central role in the Olympic and Paralympic Games Los Angeles 2028 as a Founding Partner, bringing a full range of mobility solutions to support athletes, officials, and organizers.
The partnership, announced Monday at American Honda’s headquarters in Torrance, also makes Honda the Official Automotive Partner of Team USA through both the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games and LA28 Summer Games.
The event featured prominent figures from Honda, LA28, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), and past Olympic and Paralympic athletes, including Misty May-Treanor, Sara Hughes, and Susannah Scaroni.
Kazuhiro Takizawa, President & CEO of American Honda, emphasized the company’s enduring American legacy and commitment to dreams and excellence. “On behalf of our 30,000 associates across the U.S. and in Southern California, Honda is proud to partner with LA28 and Team USA to support the remarkable athletes who will follow that same path to realize their dreams in Los Angeles,” Takizawa said.
Honda’s role includes providing an accessible, electrified fleet during the Games.
Vehicles will range from the upcoming Honda 0 Series and Acura RSX, to motorcycles, ATVs, Motocompacto e-scooters, and Honda Marine engines.
Honda and Acura vehicles will also serve as official pace cars for all LA28 endurance events.
Casey Wasserman, LA28 Chairperson and President, welcomed Honda’s involvement: “In 2028, thousands of athletes will descend on Los Angeles to chase their Olympic and Paralympic dreams. Honda shares our belief in the power of those dreams—and the ability of the Games to inspire.”
In a move that underscores Honda’s social investment, the company announced a $1 million multi-year donation to support organizations helping individuals reach their full potential.
This commitment builds on the more than $16 million in 2025 contributions from Honda and the Honda USA Foundation toward mobility, education, traffic safety, and environmental initiatives.
NBCUniversal also plans to collaborate with Honda on a comprehensive media campaign highlighting the automaker throughout its Milano Cortina 2026 and LA28 coverage.
“Honda’s pursuit of excellence and deep ties to Los Angeles make them an ideal partner for the Games,” said Mark Marshall, Chairman of Global Advertising and Partnerships at NBCUniversal. “We’re excited to tell empowering Olympic stories with Honda’s support.”
With its headquarters established in Los Angeles since 1959, Honda’s LA28 partnership not only honors its past but signals a forward-thinking commitment to innovation, accessibility, and the enduring spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.
In Marysville at the Honda Heritage Center, Annette Echikunwoke, a Pickerington native and Silver medalist in the women’s hammer throw in the 2024 Olympics, spoke to the crowd.
