Honda is recalling certain 2025 Honda CR-V Fuel Cell EV vehicles due to a safety issue that could lead to a loss of drive power.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), coolant may leak inside the fuel cell stack and enter the stack case, potentially causing an internal short circuit.

This condition increases the risk of a crash or injury and means the vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 305, which addresses electrical shock protection in electric-powered vehicles.

The recall, listed under NHTSA Campaign Number 25V858000, affects 388 vehicles nationwide.

The issue involves the vehicle’s electrical system.

What owners should know:

  • Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel cell stack assembly at no cost to the owner.
  • Notification: Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning February 2, 2026.
