Houchins and Durflinger arrested for previous outstanding felony warrants

The Bellefontaine Police Department observed Jesse Houchins, 41, on Sandusky Avenue near Detroit Street Thursday afternoon around 2.

Houchins had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest for felony drug possession. A traffic stop was initiated.

As officers approached the driver and passenger, an open beer was in the center console in plain view. On Jesse’s person, a crack pipe was located in his coat pocket which contained chore boy.

The passenger, Richard Weeks, 52, had a crack pipe and a digital scale containing a white residue in his pant pocket. Weeks claimed a friend had told him to pick up the scale and hold onto it.

Nothing else illegal was in the vehicle.

Houchins was transported to the Logan County Jail and lodged on his previous three outstanding felony indictment warrants and one new count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Weeks was also transported to the Logan County Jail and lodged on two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Bellefontaine Police Department reports Justin Durflinger, 32, was driving on East Sandusky Avenue Thursday afternoon around 3.

Durflinger had an outstanding felony indictment warrant for his arrest. At the Hyland Hills Plaza, a traffic stop was initiated.

He admitted to having a pipe in his shirt pocket which contained chore boy.

Detectives with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrived to assist. No other illegal narcotics or contraband was found in the vehicle.

The 13-count felony indictment was the result of a multi-agency drug trafficking investigation conducted by detectives of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and detectives of the Bellefontaine Police Department.

Durflinger was transported to the Logan County Jail and lodged on his 13-count felony indictment warrant and a new charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
