The Champaign Family YMCA has a new CEO, Greg Hower.
Hower officially began his new role on Monday.
He takes over from Paul Waldsmith, the former CEO, who retired at the end of 2024 after nearly 36 years of service at five different YMCA facilities.
With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, educational leadership, and program development, Hower most recently served as the athletic director for Urbana City Schools.
In that role, he oversaw athletic programs for student-athletes, managed a district-wide budget, and supervised coaches, volunteers, and staff members.

Hower has also worked at the Champaign Family YMCA, where he spent several years as the Membership, Marketing & Sports Director.
