A man was arrested Thursday morning after a reported domestic violence incident at an apartment complex in Russells Point.
According to the Russells Point Police Department, officers were called to the home just before 10 AM, after a neighbor reported hearing screaming and loud banging coming from the apartment.
Officers attempted to make contact at the apartment but received no response.
Police then spoke with a neighbor, who reported hearing a woman yelling, “You hit my head on the wall,” along with continued screaming and banging noises.
Based on the report and concern for the safety of those inside, officers entered the apartment.
Once inside, officers heard running water upstairs.
A woman later came downstairs wearing a towel and appeared hesitant when asked if anyone else was in the apartment.
Officers went upstairs and found a man hiding in the shower, later identified as Brandon Hughes, 29, of Russells Point.
Hughes refused to identify himself and was detained.
Based on an on-site investigation and witnesses’ statements, Hughes was arrested for domestic violence.
Further investigation revealed he also had an active warrant out of Shelby County for a drug-related offense.
Hughes was transported to the Logan County Jail without incident.
