Indian Lake High School has announced its November Seniors of the Month, Makenna Hurley and Carly Strayer.
Makenna Hurley is the daughter of Jay and Melissa Hurley of Huntsville.
School Activities and awards: Volleyball, Competition Cheer, Basketball Cheer, Show Choir/ Vocal Jazz, Musical, Key Club, Science Club, DECA, NHS, Senior Class Treasurer, Perfect Attendance, CBC Scholar Athlete, 3D Award, Booster Award, Teammate Award, Honorable Mention CBC, Best Smile/ Attitude Award
If I were principal for a day: I’d make it a “Bring Your Pet to School” day so everyone could show off their furry friends and have fun together.
Favorite school memory: My favorite memory is winning the school Volleyball Tournament before Thanksgiving break.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: I’m inspired by my family, friends, coaches, and teachers.
Lately I’ve been reading: The Summer I Turned Pretty
My advice to parents: Take the pictures and say you’re proud of them. One day, you’ll both look back and realize how special these moments really were.
My biggest regret: I regret not taking more pictures with my friends to look back on.
Next year, I will be: Attending an undecided college, majoring in Marketing.
Carly Strayer is the daughter of David and Amanda Strayer of DeGraff.

If I were principal for a day: I would have a movie day in the auditorium and send everyone home early.
Favorite school memory: My favorite memory is winning a Sectional title in basketball my junior year.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: I’m inspired by my family, teachers, and coaches.

My advice to parents: My advice to parents is to let your children grow up and enjoy their days as a teenager, and encourage them to be involved in as much as possible.
My biggest regret: My biggest regret is not playing more than one sport throughout high school.
Next year, I will be: Attending an undecided college to play basketball and study physical therapy.
