ILDC hosts annual Dredge Day luncheon

The Indian Lake Development Corporation held its annual Dredge Day Luncheon on Friday afternoon, bringing together community leaders and organizations to share updates on ongoing projects around the lake.

ILDC President Dale Frymyer highlighted the group’s efforts over the past year, including replanting trees lost in the 2024 tornado, adding benches along the bike path, and coordinating the annual Clean Up Indian Lake Day.

 

Dustin Wickersham of the Indian Lake Watershed Project spoke about his group’s work addressing shoreline erosion and sediment research.

He also announced that the Watershed’s annual meeting will take place on October 15 at 6 p.m. at The Lighthouse in Russells Point.

Sharon DeVault from the Indian Lake Historical Society shared that her group continues its efforts to preserve local history and noted that the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Sandy Beach Bridge is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, at 6 p.m.

John West provided statistics on the Boaters Helping Boaters program, reporting that volunteers have towed 125 disabled boats so far this year.

Indian Lake Superintendent Dr. Rob Underwood gave a district update, while Mike Yoder reported on the Animal Shelter.

Sheriff Randy Dodds discussed renovations at the Logan County Jail and announced a public information meeting about the proposed 911 levy.

That meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 15, at 7 p.m. in the Indian Lake High School auditorium.

Renee Metzger closed out the luncheon with an update on the Indian Lake State Park, reminding residents that the annual Fall Festival takes place this weekend, with crews working to prepare the grounds.
