Indian Lake Local Schools is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award.
Community members, students, and staff are encouraged to nominate a Laker who has made significant contributions in their field, profession, or through service to society.
To submit a nomination, complete the requirements listed on the form at Indian Lake Schools Distinguished Alumni Award PDF and return it to Indian Lake Schools on or before March 1, 2026.
“The true measure of a school’s success is reflected in the achievements of its alumni,” said the district. “Indian Lake has educated thousands of students who have gone on to accomplish remarkable things, and this award honors those graduates who have gained distinction since attending Indian Lake High School or its predecessor schools — Huntsville, Stokes, and Washington — which later consolidated into Indian Lake Local Schools.”
The Distinguished Alumni Award was established in 2020 by the Indian Lake Board of Education.
Past recipients include:
- 2020: Judy Grubbs
- 2021: Even Stevens
- 2022: Kay Tracy
- 2023: Doyle Miller (posthumously) and Jeneane “Lefty” Des Combes Lesko
- 2024: Jim Jenkins
- 2025: David and Nancy Knight
Nominations are open to all who wish to recognize an outstanding Laker whose accomplishments bring pride to the Indian Lake community.
