The Indian Lake High School Homecoming Court is taking center stage this week, representing their school during the Community Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally in downtown Russells Point on Thursday and at the Homecoming Game on Friday night.

This year’s Homecoming King and Queen are Seniors Ke’Shawn Blackwell and Riley Ross.

The court also includes:

  • Senior Attendants: Avery Pequignot and Evie Wagner
  • Junior Attendants: Gary Hutton and Cami Bailey
  • Sophomore Attendants: Braden Tussing and Alivia Kinney
  • Freshman Attendants: Nixon Lillard and Ayla Brentlinger

Russells Point Police and Indian Lake Schools invite families, neighbors, and all Laker fans and alumni to line Main Street for the 17th annual Homecoming Parade, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The parade will feature dozens of floats highlighting Indian Lake student athletes, band members, local law enforcement, student organizations, staff, and the Homecoming Court.

Participants will hand out candy and other small prizes.

Local businesses are encouraged to decorate their exteriors, with the ILHS Student Council and ILHS Football Cheerleaders presenting an award for the Business with the Best Spirit.

This year’s Homecoming slogan is “Sink the Braves”, and all class floats will feature a boating theme.

Following the parade, Gathering Grounds will host a Pep Rally in the gravel parking lot next to the coffee shop, energizing students, players, parents, and fans for the Homecoming Game against Springfield Shawnee on Friday.

Cheerleaders and Student Council officers will introduce the coaches, fall sports teams, and the Homecoming Court.

Attendees can enjoy games, prizes, and a Dunk Tank sponsored by the Indian Lake Athletic Boosters.

Parade logistics include the closure of the west end of Main Street at 5 p.m., with floats approaching from Township Road 239 at Midway.

Students participating in the parade may be dropped off at the bike path pull-off at Township Road 239 or at Paradise Island across from Indian Head Roadhouse.

The Homecoming Game will kick off Friday at 7 p.m. in Laker Stadium, with the parade of cars and presentation of the King, Queen, and their Court beginning at 6:20 p.m.

The 2025 Homecoming Dance is scheduled for Saturday at the Indian Lake Elementary School gymnasium.
