The Indian Lake community came together Thursday night for the annual Homecoming Community Parade and Pep Rally, celebrating this year’s theme, “Sink the Braves.”
Queen Riley Ross and King Ke’Shawn Blackwell led the procession, looking elegant as they guided the parade through downtown Russells Point.
The class floats featured a variety of boats, including yachts, sailboats, fishing boats, and even a pirate ship.
Students riding the floats invited friends in costume to join the fun, and several local businesses decorated their storefronts in keeping with the theme.
Children lined the streets, eagerly collecting candy along the parade route.
At Gathering Grounds, the pep rally was led by Indian Lake High School Student Council members, the football cheerleaders, and the marching band.
Football players energized the crowd and encouraged everyone to cheer them on as they face the Shawnee Braves in tonight’s Homecoming game.
The Homecoming Court was introduced on stage, adding to the excitement of the evening.
The celebration wrapped up with music and dancing provided by a DJ and a dunk tank sponsored by the Indian Lake Athletic Boosters, featuring SRO Brenner, Head Football Coach Jonn Rapp, and board member Chad Ross.
The Homecoming game kicks off tonight at Laker Stadium.
The Parade of Cars and crowning of the King and Queen will start at 6:10 PM, and the game begins at 7:00 PM.
