The United Way of Logan County is coordinating two Multi-Agency Resource Centers for any Indian Lake tornado victims.

One will be open through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. behind Gathering Grounds Coffee Shop (337 E. Main St. Russells Point).

A second is being coordinated to open Tuesday afternoon next to Osgood Bank at 165 East Lake Street in Lakeview.

Shelter available at:

  • Indian Lake Community Church, Warming Shelter is open nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
  • First Church of God, 1000 E Brown, Bellefontaine open for shelter and for people with pets American Red Cross onsite

Pets:

  • Home Away From Home is open for pet shelter or displaced pets with veterinary service available (937)441-2163.  Needs are newspaper, pet pads, trash bags. bleach and general supplies
  • The Barkfontaine in Bellefontaine is offering a pet shelter
  • Dr. Weaver (South Gate Veterinary Clinic) who is willing to see wounded animals for Home Away from Home
  • Our House Pet Care is available for pet shelter, 2561 US 68 N Bellefontaine
  • Logan County Dog Warden is assembling a team for the rescue of displaced pets
  • Buckeye at the Lake Pet food is available

Clean Up Efforts:

  • All refuse can be delivered to World Class Drive. This is located on St. Rt. 708 south of Russell’s Point. When dumping, please separate trash and debris into piles that will be clearly marked
  • Tree and woody debris can be disposed of at Emil Davis Park in Lakeview

Fuel/Propane Resources:

  • There will be a free Propane filling station located at the old Laker Tire building, 431 Madison Ave. Russells Point

Traffic Updates:

  • If you don’t have a specific purpose, PLEASE stay out of the Lake area.  Sightseers and non-involved parties are hampering clean-up efforts and causing traffic congestion.
  • 33 between Russells Point and Lakeview is CLOSED

Other Updates:

  • A generator distribution line is available at the Russells Point Police Department for the entire Indian Lake community, call (937) 843-2245 extension 108
  • The Mary Ryan Pharmacy is available, call (937) 651-6783 for assistance reconciling medications that your pharmacy can’t help with or for financial burdens that restrict availability to purchase needed medications
  • Community Health and Wellness Partners,  Indian Lake Community Health Center is open for normal operations by the spillway. Patients can schedule online, text, or call the office at (9370 599-1411
  • Shower and laundry trailers are located behind Bridges in Lakeview and at the Church of God in Russells Point
