Indian Lake continues search for Distinguished Alumni

Indian Lake Schools is asking the Laker community to step up.

The district is continuing its search for nominees for the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award, but so far, very few nominations have been received — and school leaders know there are many deserving alumni whose stories deserve to be told.

The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes graduates who have made meaningful contributions through their careers, their communities, or service to others.

Simply put, it honors those who represent the very best of what it means to be a Laker.

School officials say the true measure of a district’s success is found in the accomplishments of its alumni.

Over the years, Indian Lake Schools has educated thousands of students who have gone on to make a lasting impact locally, nationally, and beyond.

The award was established by the Indian Lake Board of Education in 2020 to honor graduates of Indian Lake High School, as well as alumni from Huntsville, Stokes, and Washington schools, which later consolidated to form Indian Lake Local Schools.

If you know a Laker who deserves recognition, now is the time.

Community members are encouraged to complete the nomination form, available HERE, and submit it to Indian Lake Schools on or before this Sunday, March 1st.
