Indian Lake Development Corporation Celebrates Community and Progress

Friday, the Indian Lake Development Corporation (ILDC) celebrated its hallmark event,  ILDC Day, an annual picnic held every September. This much-anticipated gathering offered a blend of recreation, and delicious food, while also serving as a platform for discussing the park’s future. Attended by state and local officials, and many supporters, ILDC Day fosters camaraderie and encourages open dialogue about ongoing and future projects aimed at enhancing the park.

ILDC Day highlighted the progress made over the past year and provided updates on current projects. Updates were given to the group by the following:

  • Rob Underwood, Indian Lake Schools
  • Barbara Taylor, Deputy Director for Congressman Jim Jordan
  • Randy Dodds, Logan County Sheriff
  • Joe Freyhoff, Russells Point Chief of Police
  • Charlie Strete, Indian Lake Pickleball
  • Dustin Wickersham, Indian Lake Watershed
  • Mike Yoder, Logan County Commissioner
  • Indian Lake State Park

Several of the speakers commended the community for their outpouring of aid during the recovery efforts of the March tornado and talked about the hope of strength and compassion in the community as continued challenges are being faced.

Established in 1983, the Indian Lake Development Corporation (ILDC) is a dedicated non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on enhancing Indian Lake State Park through collaboration with the State Park manager. This vibrant group of volunteers is committed to improving the park and actively seeks feedback from the community to guide future developments around the lake. Learn more about the organization HERE.
