The Indian Lake Pickleball Committee proudly announces it has met its fundraising goal of $330,000 for the construction of a six-court pickleball complex at Oldfield Beach. This achievement was made possible through generous donations, sponsorships, and a pivotal $150,000 grant from the Ohio Legislature’s one-time-use strategic investment fund.
The announcement of the state grant in February was a key turning point, galvanizing community support and accelerating the fundraising efforts. Laura Kunkle, co-chair of the Indian Lake Pickleball Committee, expressed her gratitude, saying, “We are deeply appreciative of the sponsors and donors in Logan County, and we are thankful to the State Legislature for their support. This grant has made it possible to bring our vision to life much sooner than anticipated. Our new pickleball complex will be a unique destination for enthusiasts from across the country.”
Pickleball, a sport combining elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, has seen growing popularity nationwide. Its appeal spans all ages and skill levels, making the new complex a valuable addition to the Indian Lake area.
Construction is set to begin this fall, with the grand opening scheduled for Spring 2025. For more information about the project or to contribute, visit www.ILDCOhio.org/pickleballcourts.
