Wednesday night, the Indian Lake Local School District Board of Education made an important decision regarding its financial leadership.
The board approved the appointment of 24-year-old Brady Hipsher as the new Assistant Treasurer starting April 1st and approved a 3-year contract for him to become the district’s Treasurer beginning August 1st.
Hipsher’s appointment marks a new chapter for the district’s financial management, and he will take over from Colleen Reprogle who is retiring after a lengthy time at the post.
He addressed the board just before their vote:
Hipsher went on to explain that he is excited to learn from Reprogle in the coming months and knows he has big shoes to fill:
In addition to the treasurer’s appointment, the district also accepted a $421.50 Education Award for the High School Language Arts Department and approved changes to its financial estimates and budget.
During the public participation portion of the meeting, a set of parents addressed the board, stating they were concerned about the bullying of their high school daughter.
Board Vice-President Chad Ross addressed the parents, expressing his disappointment in the situation, but also added that there are two sides to every story.
Ross assured the family that the board would be speaking with the high school administration and return their findings to the family.
The board went on to review personnel updates, including the approval of new substitute teachers and a series of professional development stipends for staff.
Other major approvals included the 2025-2026 school calendar and the Quiz Bowl team’s trip to the National Academic Quiz Tournament in Chicago this April.
The next regular Board of Education meeting will be Monday, March 17, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the Board of Education Office.
