The Best Dog in Logan County for 2023 belongs to Indian Lake second grader Pave Stanley.

Logan County Auditor Jack Reser presented the award to Pave recently for his submission about his puppy named “Whiskey.”

The Best Dog in Logan County is an annual contest meant to highlight the importance of purchasing a dog license each year through the Auditor’s Office.

Across the county, elementary students who have dogs were asked to write about their animal, describing their best qualities and why they love their dog.

More than 500 Logan County employees selected Pave’s paragraph and picture with “Whiskey” as this year’s best.

Pave received a gift card from the Fun Company and framed poster of this year’s advertisement for dog tags.

Stanley’s family was invited to the presentation in front of the whole ILES second-grade class.

Deputy Cole Piatt and K-9 Thor from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department also came along to demonstrate some of Thor’s special skills.
