Three students from Indian Lake High School recently represented their school and chapter at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Convention held in Orlando, Florida.

ILHS seniors Czar Dickson and Jayden Martin, along with junior Gavin Henry, qualified for the national event by earning top scores at the Ohio BPA State Leadership Conference in March.

At the national level, Dickson and Martin competed in Fundamental Word Processing, and each earned Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification in PowerPoint.

Henry participated in the Fundamental Accounting competition.

While none of the students placed in the top 10 nationally, all gave strong performances and represented Indian Lake with pride.

Beyond the competition, the students had the opportunity to explore many of the attractions in the Orlando area.

Highlights of the trip included visits to Universal Studios, the NASA Kennedy Space Center, and Cocoa Beach, as well as a wildlife airboat tour where they saw alligators in their natural habitat.

The group also enjoyed a variety of local dining experiences.

The students were accompanied by ILHS BPA Advisor and ILHS/OHP Business Teacher Lisa Coburn, who supported them throughout the trip and competition.

The National Leadership Convention brought together thousands of BPA student members from across the country, offering them opportunities to network, compete, and expand their leadership and career skills.
