The Indian Lake Middle School Academic Hall of Fame celebrated 16 exceptional students from the Class of 2029 recently.

The induction ceremony was held in front of the entire ILMS student body, with friends and family in attendance to cheer on the new inductees.

ILMS Co-Principal Missy Mefford addressed the students, acknowledging the challenges of middle school and the significance of their accomplishments.

She told the audience, “For those of you sitting in the stands today, this could be you someday. You can choose to become the best version of yourself, just as these students have done. If being inducted into the Hall of Fame is a goal of yours, then take time to reflect on the friends you have and the decisions you make each and every day. Are you on the path that will lead you into one of these chairs? If the answer is yes, then keep on pushing through. If the answer is no, then reflect on what it is you need to do and adjust your sails to find success. These students took the initiative to make themselves the best version of themselves that they could be. They chose to be better each day than they were the day before.”

The 2029 inductees are:

  • Adriana Andrus
  • Wyatt Beair
  • Rush Hurley
  • Tyler Jackson
  • Lux Kipker
  • Nixon Lillard
  • Laura Metzger
  • Isabella Michael
  • Makenzie Motter
  • Layna Nessler
  • Peyton Robinson

To qualify for induction, each student maintained a GPA of 3.8 or higher, had a 98% attendance rate, was enrolled for at least 70% of semesters from 5th through 8th grade, and had no significant disciplinary issues during their time at ILMS.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the cafeteria, giving students, families, and staff the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the newest Hall of Fame members.
