Troopers from the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash with minor injuries early Monday morning in Champaign County.
The crash happened around 1:53 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 68 and Springfield Urbana Pike in Urbana. According to a preliminary investigation, a 2024 GMC Sierra driven by Steven Vulgamor, 73, of Urbana, was traveling north on U.S. 68 when a 2015 Toyota RAV4 driven by Cylie Hodge, 30, of Springfield, attempted to make a left turn onto Springfield Urbana Pike and failed to yield the right of way. The GMC struck the Toyota.
Vulgamor and two passengers, Linda Vulgamor, 73, of Urbana, and Talan Paugh, 20, of Middletown, were transported by ground ambulance to Mercy Health – Urbana Hospital with minor injuries. Hodge was also taken to the hospital by ambulance and treated for minor injuries.
Hodge was cited for right-of-way when turning left.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
