The Logan County Jail reported that in 2025, 14 inmates were placed on immigration holds and later transferred into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Jail administrator Tim Klingelhofer spoke about the process, saying,
“The wheel of justice is a well-oiled machine now. We notify them, and they show up relatively quickly.”
He added that ICE typically arrives to take custody either the next day or within the week.
These transfers are handled carefully and in accordance with federal guidelines.
The Logan County Jail works with ICE to manage detainees subject to federal immigration holds, which can occur when individuals in custody are identified as potentially removable under U.S. immigration law.
