Tuesday, Judge Kevin P. Braig of the Logan County Court of Common Pleas sentenced Sylvia Inskeep to seven to eight years in prison for multiple felony convictions related to methamphetamine possession and the burglary of a farmhouse near West Liberty.

Inskeep was also ordered to pay $1,500 in restitution to the burglary victim.

A Logan County jury found Inskeep guilty on October 10, 2025, of complicity to burglary, complicity to three counts of grand theft of firearms, and complicity to two counts of aggravated possession of drugs.

Jurors concluded that she aided and abetted co-defendant Edward Morgan in carrying out the crimes.

Among the evidence presented was video of Inskeep using methamphetamine with Morgan in the parking lot of the South Main Street McDonald’s, the afternoon the burglary occurred.

Judge Braig described the offenses as “serious crimes,” noting that the victims suffered significant economic, mental, and emotional harm.

He added that the conduct of Inskeep and Morgan resembled organized criminal activity due to the level of coordination involved.

The judge also emphasized that Inskeep was free on bond from an unrelated Union County indictment at the time of the Logan County offenses.

During sentencing, Inskeep downplayed her involvement, stating in both court and her pre-sentence investigation report that she would not have participated if not for what she described as a “toxic relationship” with Morgan.

She also indicated she plans to appeal both her convictions and her sentence.

Morgan was previously sentenced by Judge Braig to 15 to 18 years in prison for his role in the crimes, as well as an additional burglary.

Logan County Prosecutors Nathan Yohey and Nick Williams represented the state in the case.

Inskeep was represented by attorney Addie King of Urbana.
