Two men were arrested in Bellefontaine Tuesday night after an encounter with police officers on patrol.
According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, the incident took place shortly after 8 PM near Water Avenue and Plumvalley Street.
Officers noticed 37-year-old Chad Montgomery of Bellefontaine stumbling in the area.
Montgomery was seen carrying and drinking from a can of beer.
When officers approached him, they noticed several signs of intoxication.
During their conversation, Montgomery admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages and shared that he had been having a difficult day.
Officers suggested that he contact someone to pick him up, and then his friend, 38-year-old Timothy Predmore of St. Paris, arrived at the scene.
However, upon further investigation, officers discovered that Predmore had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Predmore was immediately taken into custody.
Montgomery, on the other hand, was arrested for public intoxication.
Both men were transported to the Logan County Jail.
