Bellefontaine police arrested Drew Williams, 26, of Dublin, after he became intoxicated and irate at a local bar and then ran from officers, according to a police report.

Officers were called after Williams’ sister reported that he had been acting disruptive and repeatedly getting out of her vehicle.

When officers arrived near Madriver Street and Patterson Avenue, they saw Williams sprinting down the street and attempting to evade them.

Officers pursued Williams, who ignored commands to stop and continued running.

He was eventually restrained and handcuffed, but resisted by dropping to the ground, slamming his head on the patrol vehicle, and refusing to move.

Officers noticed the odor of alcoholic beverages on Williams.

The sister told police that she and Williams had been at Wrock Bottom Bar, where Williams became heavily intoxicated and agitated.

His behavior escalated as they left the bar, prompting her to call the police.

Williams was transported to the Logan County Jail and booked on charges including disorderly conduct by intoxication, obstruction, and resisting arrest.
