Intoxicated Man Arrested for Shooting Gun Inside Apartment

On Wednesday night, Bellefontaine Police responded to a call on East Sandusky Avenue about a gunshot fired inside an apartment.

Upon arrival, officers instructed everyone inside to exit with their hands up.

Dwayne Edwards, 30, of Bellefontaine, complied and was arrested without issue.

Edwards, who had been drinking, admitted to having a firearm in a holster.

Police found an extended magazine, a regular magazine, and a holster visible in the apartment.

They also discovered a Taurus 9mm handgun in a dresser drawer, a 9mm shell casing on the bedroom floor, and a bullet hole in the wall.

Edwards was taken to the Logan County Jail, facing charges of improperly discharging a firearm, using weapons while intoxicated, and discharging firearms.
